Hawk’s story is closely tied to Florida itself. This is not a market we entered recently or a place we serve from a distance. Our roots run deep here, and so does our commitment to improving the communities we work in. Every project we take on is shaped by an understanding that our work affects real people, real neighborhoods, and long-term property value. That responsibility is something we take seriously on every job.
Founded in 2005, Hawk Construction & Renovation, LLC, commonly known as Hawk, is a state-certified construction company based in Orlando, Florida. Our team brings more than 60 years of combined building experience, spanning custom single-family homes, custom renovations, and large-scale multifamily developments. Over time, our focus has evolved toward what we do best: complex apartment renovation projects that require coordination, precision, and consistency at scale.
With over 20,000 renovations successfully completed, Hawk has built a reputation for reliable execution, strong field leadership, and a deep understanding of multifamily operations. We know how apartment communities function day to day, and we plan our work to support occupancy, timelines, and long-term asset performance. That experience allows us to deliver renovation programs that make financial sense while also improving the quality and livability of the communities we serve.
Hawk operates from its headquarters at 2610 E Jackson Street, Orlando, FL 32803, a building we purchased and fully renovated in 2016. It reflects the way we work – investing thoughtfully, improving what exists, and building with purpose.

Alex Kontos, President
Alex Kontos, a Florida State University graduate and Florida Licensed Realtor, began his career by founding Preferred Touch Services, Inc., an apartment renovation company that successfully renovated over 20,000 units. After 10 years of leading the company and working with top property management firms, Alex co-founded Hawk Construction & Renovation, LLC to expand into real estate development and new construction.
Chris Harrison, Vice President
Chris Harrison is a third generation Orlando native with over 20 years of experience in the central Florida real estate and construction market. He is a state certified building contractor that possesses a lifelong passion for all things real estate. Throughout his career, Chris has diversified his entrepreneurial ventures. He has successfully designed, built and implemented numerous real estate projects from inception to completion.
Clara Fermin, COO
Clara Fermin joined Hawk Construction & Renovation in 2015 and has played a key role in the company’s growth. With extensive experience in operations, HR, and technology-driven systems, she helps solve problems and drive results. She has helped develop company policies, workflows, and strong employee relations aligned with the company’s vision. A Florida Licensed Realtor, Clara is passionate about home improvement, real estate development, and interior design.
Troy Filley, VP of New Construction
Troy Filley, an Orlando native, is a state-certified building contractor with over 20 years of experience in both horizontal and vertical construction, including underground utilities, custom homes, and multi-family projects. After running his family-owned construction company for 12 years, he merged with Hawk Construction & Renovation, LLC to support the company’s growth and expand its presence in the development and construction industry.
